two men facing a camera looking mean

Okay, wait. Wasn’t our Freaky Halloween party just yesterday? Well apparently the holidays are now upon us and in full-force and we all know this is the ideal opportunity for companies to increase their business. Here are some unconventional ideas to get customers engaged and keep them coming through the door.

Get in the spirit

Christmas StorefrontWe told you previously that decorating your marketing materials is a lovely way to get your clients in the holiday spirit, but why stop there? Depending on your business’ attitude and persona, you may be able to get away with decking all the halls. Don’t be afraid to spruce up with a spruce or letting a strand tinsel trickle from the register or front desk. Get your customers in the mood and make them feel welcome in your shop or office so they know you’re seriously serious about spreading holiday cheer.

Consider dropping your prices just *before* Christmas Day

Consider it your gift to those that are scrambling for theirs. Show your more pokey customers that you care about their holiday happiness just as much as you do the planners’. You’re not rewarding them for leaving things to the last minute, but you could be rewarding yourself in the future with a repeat customer. Hey, even Microsoft is trying this tactic with their Xbox One and nobody would mind having pockets like Bill Gates’.

Send warm wishes

While social media is always important in the world of online marketing, it can truly make a difference this time of year. Show your followers that your company has heart and that you sincerely hope they have a wonderful holiday season. Sure, you’re a business and you rely on revenue to keep it going, but there’s no need to act like a Scrooge and make your customers feel like money is all you care about. Perhaps try posting with a purpose other than promoting yourself, but instead of sharing joy, happiness and well-wishes for the season. It will bring a more personal touch to your social media pages and will remind your followers that you’re more than just a company.
