Why Good SEO Takes Time to Hold

So you’ve finally done it, you’ve followed finalized your SEO strategy. You’ve done the keyword research, you’ve polished your content, and you’re feeling pretty good. So when do I get to see the fruits of my labor, you ask? Well, while SEO can be a valuable tool in your online marketing arsenal, it doesn’t promise overnight success. Here are some factors to consider while waiting for your SEO results.

Strict SEO Standards

Search engines want to provide the best of the best for their users, and the process of choosing the cream of the crop can be a complicated one. After your site gets the SEO treatment, it has to go through various link filters and algorithms that are looking for keyword stuffing, thin content, back-linking, and other factors that help decide whether your site it up-to-snuff. And if you’ve been penalized by a search engine such as Google, the road to recovery can be a long one. But once your site bounces back with a little SEO cleanup, it will be bigger and better than ever.

High Competition

According to content marketing expert Luke Guy, in 2016, over 1.5 million articles are published daily on WordPress alone. That’s a lot of fish in the digital ocean, and it can be easy to get swept away if you don’t know how to navigate the SEO current. No matter what your field is, everyone is trying to get noticed, so it can be hard to try and find the best technique to get your voice to be heard. It’s good to keep on eye on your competition, but make sure your own brand identity is good and healthy before jumping into the SEO fray.

harnessing the (7)Your Starting Position

The power of SEO can help take your company to some great places, but getting there may take a little longer for some, depending on where you start. According to digital marketing consultant Alex Chris, the amount of content you have on your site, whether your site is old or new, and the exact changes that need to be made to your site are all important factors in how long it will take you to start seeing the effects of your SEO. Self-promotion and social media presence also helps give SEO a boost, so be sure you’re actively working to get your site noticed.

SEO Upkeep and Maintenance

It’s a wild, wild world out there and what determines the best SEO strategies is constantly changing. What works for you today may not work tomorrow, and it can take time to figure out what changes need to be made. Updating and keeping your SEO efforts relevant is essential, so make sure to keep a close eye on your results to stay ahead of the competition. It can be hard to go it alone, but there are plenty of tools to help you get started. Be sure to take advantage of services like GoogleAdwords and Google Analytics, and don’t be afraid to contact some outside experts to help you put your best foot forward.
