Turn the Page loves to take the time to give back to the Kansas City community when possible. On Thursday, December 8, our team went to Harvesters’ main facility in Kansas City to spend three hours packing boxes of nutritional food to feed families in need.
A Bit About Harvesters
For those of you outside of our area, Harvesters is a regional food bank serving a 26-county area of northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas. They provide food and related household products to more than 620 not-for-profit agencies like food pantries, community kitchens, homeless shelters, children’s homes and more. Also offered are educational programs aimed to increase community awareness of hunger and teach about the importance of nutrition.
Why Should Your Business Volunteer?
There is something great you feel when you and the people you spend the most time with are able to work on a project together that is entirely removed from your day-to-day grind. You might be surprised how well everyone works in a hands-on environment. It’s also an excellent opportunity for your company to potentially meet and connect with other companies that might be volunteering at the same time. Seeing that your companies have the same mutual interest in helping the community is a great way to establish a business connection.
Our Team of Experts in All Things Online Marketing… and Packing Related
Our Turn the Page team is such an efficient machine that we were finished packing a few hundred boxes with over half an hour to spare so, naturally, we were happy to help out preparing bags of onions in the remaining time. And we had a lot of fun in the process! Check us out in action below.
